Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, Brina works one-on-one with her clients, together identifying unique goals and objectives for treatment. From the start, Brina engages in a collaborative dialogue with her clients, striving to understand where they are at and where they want to go. She creates a safe and caring environment for her clients to explore thoughts and feelings that can often feel too overwhelming and painful to process alone.

Brina believes that each individual client functions as a member of a larger community. At times, she welcomes clients to invite outside participants into the safety of the therapeutic environment. The presence of outside participants can often help provide insight into the client’s situation, mediate conflict, or facilitate effective interpersonal communication. Prior to the session, Brina will help prepare both client and outside participant to help ensure that the presence of the outside participant is meaningful for her primary client.
